CaribWorldNews, GROS ISLET, St. Lucia, Tues. May 11, 2010: The West Indies cricket team, fresh from their win over India, will now have to trounce power house Australia to make it to the semis.
The two sides are set to clash today in their final super eight match at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia
The Aussies have already booked their place in the semi finals and the Windies need a win to also take a place there.
The Aussies have so far been cruising comfortably in the Super Eight with wins over the other team`s in Group F: India and Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the West Indies were on Monday fined for maintaining a slow over rate during their 14-run victory over India in the Super Eight match in the ICC World Twenty20 2010 at Kensington Oval, Barbados, on Sunday.
Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fines after skipper Chris Gayle`s players were ruled to be two overs short of their target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration.
As such, Gayle was fined 40 percent of his match fee while his players received 20-percent fines.
