CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Fri. Oct. 30, 2009: Key Haitian American elected officials from across the United States are set to wrap up a meeting on Capitol Hill today that marks the first of the National Haitian American Elected Officials Network.
The two-day meeting, which began Thursday, was convened by Marie St. Fleur, State Representative, Massachusetts (D-5th Suffolk) and facilitated by the William Monroe Trotter Institute of the University of Massachusetts Boston.
NHAEON`s mission is to positively influence the development and implementation of United States` policies which have a direct impact on Haiti by becoming an organized and collective voice.
Haitian-American elected officials from Massachusetts, Florida, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and New Hampshire along with Ambassador Raymond Joseph will be among those present at a press conference today at the US Capitol Building, Room H 137.
