CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Thurs. Feb. 7, 2008: Over 50 Cuban migrants trying to enter the U.S. illegally were yesterday returned to their homeland by U.S. Coast Guard officers.
Fifty-eight Cuban migrants were returned to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba following their interdiction during two separate incidents Saturday.
Thirty were found Sunday 90 miles southeast of Cay Sal Bank, Bahamas while 28 were found Saturday, 64 miles south of Cudjoe Key, Fla.
So far this year, the Coast Guard has repatriated over 200 Cubans back to the Communist-run territory. Those returned were nabbed at sea since under the controversial `wet foot, dry land policy,` Cubans who make it to U.S. soil are usually granted asylum. – CaribWorldNews.com
