CaribWorldNews, Philipsburg, St. Maarten, Weds. Feb. 6, 2008: Derrick Holiday, the former police chief of St. Maarten, was charged yesterday with forging immigration documents.
Police arrested Holiday at his home of the island on charges he forged immigration documents. The arrest comes just days after he was removed from his post.
The former top cop is accused of forging several immigration documents over a period of time and authorities say they are searching his home and office.
Holiday was reassigned on Feb. 1 after overseeing 200 police and immigration officers in St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba.
Former Police Commissioner, Marcel Loor, was last year sentenced to four years in prison for taking bribes to provide fake entry documents to several foreign workers. – CaribWorldNews.com
