CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Weds. Mar. 24, 2010: An appeal is currently underway for back-up reggae singer Connie Campbell who is currently facing a medical tab of US$200,000.
The mounting health care costs come as Campbell begins therapy to recover from a seizure she suffered last August at the Crossroads Entertainment Complex in Maryland. Campbell was at the time performing as a back-up singer for reggae singer, Tarrus Riley.
She was rushed to a local hospital and declare to have suffered a `brainstem stroke.` She now has been diagnosed as suffering from `locked in syndrome` and remains on life support.
Her medical expenses according bass player Lyndon `Ace` Webb, who has been by her side almost daily since she fell ill, is up towards the US$200,000 mark, and her financial resources is depleted.
Currently she is in need of financial assistance since her life may depend on whether a medical fund is able to raise money to allow her to receive the therapy towards her recovery, colleagues said.
